Garden Hotel Primavera is Ticino’s first plant-based and non-smoking hotel, located directly on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Brissago, Switzerland. Founded and personally managed by Isabella and Maurizio, the hotel offers 20 double rooms with panoramic lake views, a vegan organic breakfast made fresh every morning, yoga and pilates sessions, free SUP boards on the lake, and a welcoming pet-friendly atmosphere. As a plant-based hotel, we are committed to a lifestyle that respects both people and nature.

2. What does the vegan breakfast at Garden Hotel Primavera include?

Every morning we prepare a fresh vegan organic breakfast featuring homemade cakes, seasonal fruits, plant-based spreads, bagels, savoury pies and local organic products. Breakfast is available daily from 7:30 to 9:30 AM and is priced at CHF 20 per adult and CHF 10 for children aged 5 to 12. It is served in our panoramic garden overlooking Lake Maggiore — weather permitting.

3. How do I get to Brissago from Milan, Zurich or Locarno?

Brissago is easily reachable from all major cities. From Milan by car via the A8/A26 motorway towards Locarno, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. From Zurich by car via the A2 motorway through the Gotthard Tunnel, approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. From Locarno by car approximately 20 minutes, or by boat along Lake Maggiore. The nearest train station is Locarno, from where you can reach Brissago by bus (line 1) in approximately 25 minutes. 4. What can I do in Brissago and the surrounding area?

Brissago and the Lake Maggiore region offer a wide range of activities for every type of traveller. Nature lovers can explore the Brissago Islands — a stunning botanical garden just 20 minutes by boat — or hike the many trails through the Ticino valleys. Active guests can enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding directly from the hotel, canyoning in the Verzasca Valley, and cycling along the lake. Culture seekers will love nearby Ascona and Locarno, home to the world-famous Locarno Film Festival. In autumn, the Centovallina scenic train offers breathtaking foliage views through the Valle Centovalli.

Yes, Garden Hotel Primavera warmly welcomes dogs. We believe that a holiday should include the whole family — and that includes your four-legged companions. Our garden and the surrounding lakeside areas are perfect for morning walks. Please inform us when booking if you are travelling with a pet so we can prepare your room accordingly.

6. When is Garden Hotel Primavera open?

Garden Hotel Primavera is open seasonally from March to the end of October. This allows us to offer our guests the very best of Lake Maggiore across spring, summer and autumn — from the first camellias blooming in March to the golden foliage of October. For specific opening and closing dates each year, please check our website or contact us directly.

7. What yoga and pilates activities are available at the hotel?

Garden Hotel Primavera offers regular yoga and pilates classes led by certified instructor Kallu Diamante, who has over 16 years of practice. Classes take place in our dedicated Magnolia Room and on our panoramic lake-view terrace. The weekly timetable includes Hatha Yoga and Pilates sessions on Tuesdays, and Yoga & Breakfast on Saturday mornings. Classes are open to both hotel guests and local residents. The price is CHF 25 per person per class. For groups, special rates are available. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.

8. How can I book a SUP or kayak in Brissago?

As a guest of Garden Hotel Primavera, you have free access to our two SUP boards directly on Lake Maggiore — no booking required, just ask Isabella or Maurizio at reception. For kayak rental and guided water activities on Lake Maggiore, we can recommend local partners in Brissago and Locarno. The calm waters of the lake make it ideal for both beginners and experienced paddlers, especially in the morning hours.
